In Anbetracht der lustigen Führungskrise der SPD muss ich an die Whigs denken, die kleine US-amerikanische Partei, die es seit 1853 nicht mehr gibt und die auch mit dem letzten von ihr gestellten Präsidenten, Millard "Last of the Whigs" Fillmore, unterging. National Geographic beschreibt es so:When Fillmore showed little interest in seeking reelection, his political party, the Whigs, chose another candidate. That candidate lost the election, and the party fell into confusion and dissappeared.
